Toronto Port Union ranks among Ontario’s absolute most challenging test centres.
Note that Toronto Port Union offers only G2 and G tests. No M, M2, LM, or LM2 motorcycle tests are available. Commercial tests are also not offered. Candidates requiring other classes must visit another centre.
Rylander Boulevard and the waterfront areas near Port Union present complex urban/industrial mixing with waterfront-specific traffic patterns.
This is genuine GTA urban complexity with pedestrians, cyclists, multi-lane roads, and congestion typical of outer Toronto.
Highway 401/407 access for G tests on demanding GTA expressways.
Extensive GTA experience required. Port Union is fundamentally a GTA testing location requiring substantial prior Toronto-area driving experience.
Waterfront road familiarity. The unique waterfront character means practice on Port Union’s distinctive roads is important.
Defensive driving essential. With only 53-54% pass rates, this is a genuinely difficult test environment.
Multiple attempts likely necessary. Expect this to be challenging, even with solid GTA experience.
Strongly consider alternatives. If you’re a first-time G2 test taker or less experienced with GTA driving, testing elsewhere is strongly recommended. The 53% G2 pass rate is the lowest among centres reviewed.
The 53% G2 pass rate is among Ontario’s lowest. First-time test takers without substantial GTA experience should seriously consider a different centre.
The 54% G pass rate is similarly challenging. Even experienced drivers find Port Union difficult.
Toronto Port Union is only suitable for candidates with extensive GTA driving experience and realistic expectations of the challenge level. The 54% G and 53% G2 pass rates are among Ontario’s absolute lowest.
